Skills is throwing the 13th annual etdPOP 2010, dubbed 'The Dream,' on May 29 at the Cow Palace Arena in San Francisco.

Headlining with Armin Van Buuren, who I saw play a mind blowing set for 9 hours at Together As One 2009, a massive New Years rave taking over the entire Los Angeles Sports Arena; also playing on this electronic set are other huge names, thrilling Steve Aoki, a DJ notorious for spraying his crowd with Champagne and crowd surfing; electro pop sensation Benny Benassi, a Grammy awarded DJ with a fresh look on remixing; the multiple piece DJ set Infected Mushroom, Fedde Le Grand, though a new face this DJ has made a huge impression in the electro scene with his debut album Output including the smash hit 'Let Me Think About It'; BOYSNOIZE, a versatile German DJ who puts on a intimate show doing live edits and on the spot remixes; Voted in the top 10 DJ's in the world,Gareth Emery, known for his house anthems and inspiring sound this DJ only 26 will be a show to see; the duo, LA RIOTS, the two DJ's have been tearing up the blogosphere with smashing remixes from all your a-list artists; and last but definitely not least Dyloot, a local legend from Berkley, CA who actually graduated from San Francisco State University, he is no shy scene from the Cow Palace, however he has definitely earned his right to play there, who has held his own playing alongside the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and much more! Although clients were calling off the hook to the Mcqueen offices the same day this music video was released, the fashion forward stilettos will not be for sale; but could be auctioned off in the near future for charities that Mcqueen was involved in. So keep your eyes out ladies.

This one's dedicated to Sir Frankalot and Dr. Donk who's both been on me to write a new entry since the first day of summer, here's to you, jackasses.

Before I get into everything, I will have you know I stayed in San Francisco for many different reasons. My heart is here, and regardless of my dreams. My family is moving although, to San Diego, so that's where I will be residing over summer if any of you want to show me around, it would be greatly appreciated.

My Summer;;

You all know the saying work hard, play hard? Well that's exactly what I did this summer.
One word CABO.

I worked full time this summer but took 2 weeks off to go to Mexico, where my mother encouraged me to dance on bars with my sister and run around town til 4 am. Highly enjoyable vacation I might add.

I also got a puppy this summer, if you were around with me this summer you already know her name. She's been officially dubbed 'the party dog.' Her name is Aura, she's a 1 year old pitbull and the love of my life.

Smatik was born in Leverkusen/ Germany,he had an intense time as DJ and graffiti artist forming ideas from influences including music, graffiti, skateboarding, street art, concept art and architecture. Taking one look at his extensive portfolio takes you aback, a man with this much talent needs to be recognized.

TREASURE ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL DATES ANNOUNCED

Last Friday Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment announced the dates of the third annual Treasure Island Music Festival. This year the festival will take place on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th. On Saturday, the festival will dedicate two stages to electronic and dance oriented acts and Sunday will feature a line up of national and local indie rock favorites.

LoveFest, one of my favourite local San Francisco events which is held dear to my heart, is now going by the name of 'LovEvolution' ? I'm really not sure if I am down or not, LoveFest was a good name, which I came to know very well but AGAIN? I know it will be just as good, if not better as they will be using this year's Love event to kick off it's newly found name. LovEvolution will be held on October 3 this year, same spot, downtown at the civic center.
And DON'T FORGET: To save up for the after party rave, although LovEvolution is free (donations accepted at the door) the rave is not, but it is well worth your money.

Britney Spears!
As I, and many of you, have heard, Spears' new tour 'Circus' is exploding with circus acts, theatrical additions, and intricate costumes. I have been lucky enough to snag some GREAT seats for her stop at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland, and I am going with a good friend and fellow Britney addict, Becca Taylor. Lucky for me, my birthday is on the 24th so my tickets were apart of my birthday gift! I am so very excited for this concert, I'm just not sure what to wear yet?

So here I am, I don't feel like blogging really, I have bronchitis AND the flu believe it or not; I have lost 3lbs in four days from not being able to eat, I wake up every 30 minutes because I can't possibly catch my breath with all of the built-up chest congestion, and my 101 fever, well it's all getting a little old. On top of all of the physical exhaustion, emotionally, I'm done. A good friend of mine, Esther Ting dies last night of a heart attack. It wasn't the thought of death I couldn't grasp but the concept. Knowing that we, as young adults, believe that we are indestructible, and we take our lives for granted every day. I know that I have fallen short of being thankful every time I wake up. But I should be. I couldn't understand the numbing feeling I felt when I realized that she wouldn't be coming over anymore and that scarf she left at my house so long ago will now forever be hanging in the hallway closet waiting for it's owner to return. I couldn't quite hold my consuming questions, why now? She was so young, her 19th birthday being in just 16 days; why her? If you knew Esther you would know that every single time she stepped foot in a room it lit up with her smile, her laugh was contagious, and she was always the one to cheer you up. Coming to terms with this isn't happening fast enough, I want to just remember the memories instead of drowning in loss. I'm sorry I haven't been blogging it really isn't a priority right now, I will try to get back to regularly on this soon.

Recently been obsessed with ASGAR/GABRIEL; like overly obsessed. I cannot get enough of the pair from Austria, and I'm sure you won't either. Asgar/Gabriel's large-scale paintings are postmodern, where linear narrative is lost; where the figurative and the abstract, image and text exist simultaneously and lives for the viewer's attention. These dislocated canvases ironically serve to locate a contemporary audience who is perfectly at ease with the disjunctive over-stimulation of a world saturated by the media and the image.

This summer there's a few essential items I have my eye on.

1. Straw Fedora:

The fedora is always a quick, easy, and still fashion forward way to run out of the house, especially in the summer, when simplicity is honored. Blush, lip gloss, mascara is all that's needed; stay simple and top off the look with a fresh fedora.

2. Two-Tone RayBans:

Different then your average solid color over-sized wayfarers that you get away with all year long. Plus, there's a good color selection to fit your own personal style.

3. Neutral and Pale Tones:
A good pale pink or peach nail polish, the subtle look can complete an outfit.

4. White Jeans:
Perfect for summer; always try and go with the lighter, brighter colors to compliment the season.

5. Beaded Sandals:

An always essential summer item, sandals. Try Bo'em bronze leather 'Mosaic' beaded sandals for a spin on something old.

6. Fun Frills:

A "something other than plain" camisole. Find something other than a basic boat or 'V' neckline or at least try a new back cut; find something flowy, light, and comfortable. Choose a bright color; coral, sun yellow, and teal are always good summer choices.

Remember to stay simple, summer is relaxed, not heavy.
